Where is Away?
I've challenged myself to make time to create something for myself every weekend as a means of keeping my creative energy flowing. Some weekends are busier than others, so some will have larger explorations than others.
I'm beginning to explore a concept I've been contemplating for awhile now, the concept of "away." We often throw things "away" or expect things to go "away," but where is this? Everything has to go somewhere, but there's a mental disconnect with physical tangibility. Once we've parted with our rubbish it's easy to forget about how much physical space it actually takes up. While we may consider the landfill as a destination for our trash, what lies beyond the landfill? Where is "away?"
Excited to explore the many different interpretations and manifestations of what it means to go "away" and bring some attention to an aspect to our greater environmental problems.
